Manu Bhoir

Manu was born in the town of Dombivli, India, a farming village about an hour outside Mumbai. Yoga has been a big part of Manu’s life in many different forms throughout the years, from the more spiritual beliefs surrounding yoga to practicing sun salutations daily at school. From his upbringing Manu developed an inherent interest and knowledge in the philosophy, history and practice of Yoga.

From a young age Manu began competitive gymnastics and coaching, his many accolades include representing India at Junior International level. Manu’s parents now own and operate a successful Gymnastics centre in Dombivli which includes a Gym and Yoga studio in which his mother has taught Yoga for many years.

Manu moved to Australia to complete his Commercial Pilot training followed by a degree in IT and worked in the hospitality and security industry until he suffered a severe spinal cord injury in 2006. This was a life changing event for Manu who soon realised that his quick recovery was not only due to an excellent surgeon but also the energy and distant Healing he was receiving from friends and loved ones. This opened Manu’s eyes to a more spiritual practice of Yoga and has strengthened his connection with his subtle energetic body and his understanding of our body’s innate ability to heal when all is in alignment at all levels.

Manu has now combined his many strengths and his passion for working with people and sharing his knowledge by completing his Master Personal Trainer and more recently his formal Yoga Instructor certification at Power Living in order to teach here in Australia. Manu is proud to be following in his Mothers footsteps and is enjoying a brighter and more ‘conscious’ way of being and looks forwards to sharing this with more and more students well into the future!
